Speaker | Consultant | Social Entrepreneur

“Sharyl has made an inestimable impact on dozens and dozens of people personally and thousands more indirectly. As the quote goes, people may forget the details of the work but they will never forget how she made us feel. Loved, cared for, looked out for, encouraged, inspired.”

– Daniel Thomas, Resident Physician, Johns Hopkins Hospital

Innovate. Influence. Inspire.

In the spring of 2021, Sharyl was awarded a $42,500 grant to decrease misinformation and hesitancy and increase access, education, and acceptance of the Covid-19 vaccine in McLennan County. She was charged with hiring a cohort of 20 undergraduate and graduate students, recent graduates, and university faculty & staff that represented diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds, bringing them together around a common issue.

Sharyl conducted interviews to capture the cohort’s experiences at the end of the grant cycle. You’ll hear her perform a portion of a piece she wrote for a Covid memorial that is featured in the video.

Lead.

“First, Sharyl is a gifted communicator. She can lead both large and small groups and gatherings and (she) can generate enthusiasm… Also, Sharyl is passionate about finding commonalities between individuals and groups who may see the
world differently.”

Sharra Hynes, Ph.D, Associate Vice President for Student Life, Baylor University

Connection. Collaboration. Creativity.

“It’s not enough to offer hospitality. Hospitality implies someone owns the table and lets you sit at it occasionally, but belonging means you’re in the kitchen making the food too, you are getting messy with everyone else, and when it’s time you help set the table and find your seat. “
